Secret Areas

Hidden Messages

  • Ckopo: In the first level, when you get to the area with the locking gates. Run around to the back of the bunker that's built into the ground and take out the guards inside. Walk from the bunker's back entrance to the left, going behind the metal crates. When you get to the wall, notice a big yellow 4 to mark the right place, turn around, and look at the side of the metal crate at the bottom of the pile. It reads "Ckopo," a Russian word that means "speedily" or "quickly."

References/ In-Jokes

  • Donkey Kong Head: In the Dam level, if you jump off the edge of the place where you're supposed to bungee jump, but don't use a bungee cord, you can see an image on the left side of the mountains that resembles the head of Donkey Kong.
  • BBFC Parody: The start-up screen has what seems to be a BBFC Rating, which is the screen shown before films in Britain. But the words "British Board of Game Classification" are replaced with "Twycross Board of Game Classification." Twycross, England is where Rare's headquarters is. Under the word President is the name "James Bond." Instead of a regular British rating, it says "4: suitable for 1-4 people," a reference to 1 to 4 players being able to play.
